Care Philosophy
We hope to create a healing environment within which can develop a patient-physician relationship of mutual understanding and mutual responsibility; we hope to assist you in maintaining an optimal level of wellness and quality of life and encourage you to remain actively involved in all aspects of your specialty care. Specialties 
Dr. Kmucha is board-certified in otolaryngology-head and neck surgery and in the subspecialty of ear, nose and throat allergy; this broad specialty covers all medical and surgical treatments of all problems involving the ear, nose, throat and associated structures in both children and adults. Dr. Kmucha also has a law degree specializing in health and healthcare law.

Insurance and Hospital Affiliations 
Accepting most indemnity plans, most PPO plans, Blue Cross PPO thru Multiplan, Kaiser's Choice Solution PPO/POS, all contracts managed by California Preferred Medical Associaties and Bay Area Preferred Physicians, traditional Medicare and Medicare Advantage Wellcare Duet. We are not contracted with Anthem/Blue Cross PPO. Co-payments and payment for any services not covered by a healthplan are due at the time of the service.

REDUCE EAR AND SINUS INFECTIONS IN ADULTS AND CHILDREN: Two new products are available in our office which reduce the number of bacteria in the nose, sinuses, throat and ear. A simple nasal rinse for adults and an oral solution for younger children. Please ask during your next visit.
Dr. Kmucha accepts the following PPO contracts: Admar, Aetna, AHC, Beech Street, Blue Cross thru Multiplan, Blue Shield, BPS, Choicecare/Humana, CIGNA, CIGNA/Multiplan, Formost, Health Network, Health Management Network, Interplan, MedNetwork, Multiplan, Prime Health Services, ProAmerica, PHA, PHCS, Three Rivers, UP&UP and USA MCO. We do NOT accept the Blue Cross/Anthem PPO.
As the only physician on the BAAQMD Advisory Council, Dr Kmucha was featured on the 8am and 6pm news shows on KRON 4 on June 24, 2008, for his input on the effects on patient health of the smoke from the fires in the Bay area. He was also featured that day on KGO radio evening news.
Dr Kmucha was recently featured on KRON 4 Medical Mondays; the topics of the show were dizziness, tinnitus and sudden hearing loss. Copies of the show on CD-ROM are available from our office.
Dr. Kmucha, a member of the Board of Governors of the American Academy of Otolaryngology, was appointed to the AAO-HNS BOG Rules and Regulations Committee in February 2006 and served a two year term; in 2008, he was appointed to the BOG Public Relations Committee for a two year term.

In January 2006, Dr. Kmucha was chosen as the only physician member of the 9 county San Francisco Bay Area Air Quality Management District Advisory Council.

Dr. Kmucha continues as a consultant to the California Medical Association (CMA) Committee on Quality Care thru 2010; he also serves on CMA's Council on Legislation thru 2010. He continues as a consultant to the Medical Board of California. He also continues as an instructor at Stanford University in the Division of Otolaryngology.
In 2005, 2006, 2007, 2008 and 2009, Dr. Kmucha was recognized by the American Academy of Otolaryngology as an outstanding leader in his specialty.
